Our Light Therapy counteracts the following Skin Diseases:
- Psoriasis - patches of inflamed red skin. These patches, or plaques, develop because the outer layer of skin cells
reproduce too fast and pile up o the skin’s surface. Psoriasis can cause pain and itching, limited motion
in the joints, and emotional distress. Exposing affected areas to narrow band UVB light causes them to die,
a process called apoptosis.
- Pruritic Disorders - an unpleasant sensation that causes the need to scratch, commonly called itching by most people
- Vitiligo - sharply bordered white patches in the skin resulting from loss of pigment. About half the patients experience onset before age 20. Most commonly
- Eczema / Atopic Dermatitis - frequently described as "the itch that rashes." Intensely itchy patches form.
- Alopecia Aareata - hair loss caused by white blood cells mistakenly attacking hair follicles, often beginning in childhood.
Phototherapy has been proven to treat these bald patches and support regrowth of hair.
- Dermatitis - an inflammation of the skin.
- Pityriasis rosea - a rash that occurs most commonly in people between the ages of 10 and 35, but may occur at any age occurring at anytime of year, but pityriasis rosea is most common in the spring and fall.
- Other photoresponsive skin diseases
